Privacy Policy
Last updated July 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Modus (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, submit a form to join our waitlist, apply to become a founding builder, or post on our forum.
Information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us. When you fill out a form on this site, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company name (optional)
- Details you choose to share about the systems you run and the problems you’re trying to solve (optional)
If you post on our forum, we collect what you submit: an optional name or handle, a title, and the body of your post. The forum is anonymous by design — no account is required, and we do not store your IP address with your post. Posts we approve are published publicly on this site.
Information collected automatically
When you visit or log in to our website, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email. We (or service providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to these email addresses. You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our site — pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, and session replays. Clarity uses cookies to do this, and masks the text you type into forms. See the “How we share your information” section below.
Our hosting provider may also collect standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your inquiry and follow up about early access
- Evaluate founding-builder applications
- Send you product updates related to your request
- Review, moderate, and publish forum posts
- Operate, secure, and improve our site
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate this site, and only as needed to provide the service:
- Slack: form and forum submissions are delivered to our team via a Slack notification so we can respond or moderate.
- Vercel: our website hosting and infrastructure provider; forum posts are stored with Vercel’s storage service.
- RB2B: a visitor identification service that uses cookies and similar technologies to help us understand which companies and people visit our site so we can follow up (see “Information collected automatically” above, including the opt-out link).
- Microsoft Clarity: a behavioral analytics service that uses cookies to capture how visitors use our site (clicks, scrolls, and session replays) so we can improve it. Text you type into forms is masked. Microsoft processes this data on our behalf; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Data retention
We keep the information you submit only as long as needed to respond to your request and for our legitimate business purposes. Approved forum posts remain public until we take them down. You can ask us to delete your information, including a forum post, at any time (see below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at team@buildmod.us.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above.
